Rybnik Chamber Choir Autograph with its artistic activities and the involvement of its choir members perfectly fits into the long singing tradition of the region. It was founded in 2003 as the DAR Academic Pastoral Choir in Rybnik. In 2012 it changed its seat to the Theatre of the Land of Rybnicki – Culture Club “Harcówka” and changed its name to the Rybnicki Kameralny Chór Autograph. It brings together people who are united by the joy of making music together. From the beginning the choir is led by prof. dr hab. Joanna Glenc, graduate of the Academy of Music in Katowice, professor at the University of Silesia, researcher and teaching staff at the Faculty of Arts and Education Sciences (Institute of Musical Arts). The choir performs both in Poland and abroad, participates in musical environmental projects, participates in reviews, competitions and festivals of regional, national and international importance, winning numerous awards and distinctions. The choir repertoire includes a wide variety of works, from medieval compositions to the music of contemporary composers.
The choir cooperates on a permanent basis and is often the first performer of choral works by the contemporary Silesian composer Jacek Glenc, a respected professor at the Academy of Music in Katowice. Since 2020, the Autograph Chamber Choir in Rybnik has been working with a female cast, offering its listeners an interesting repertoire intended for a cappella female choir and in vocal and instrumental versions.
The band has recorded CDs and DVDs and presentations a-v on the YouTube channel.
Conductor - Prof. dr hab. Joanna Glenc – Uniwersytet Śląski w Katowicach
Prof. dr hab. Joanna Glenc – Professor of Musical Arts. Graduate of the Academy of Music Karol Szymanowski in Katowice in two specializations: Music Theory and Choral Studies.
In addition, she completed Postgraduate Choral Studies at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. Professor at the University of Silesia – Faculty of Arts and Science of Education at the Institute of Musical Arts. She conducts didactic, scientific, journalistic and organizational activities. Over the years, she founded and led several vocal ensembles – some of which she still collaborates with (e.g. Rybnicki Chamber Choir Autograph, the Choir of the University of Silesia HARMONIA and the DOMINANT Choir of the State Music School I and II Degree of Karol and Antoni Szafranek in Rybnik). As a conductor, she leads a lively artistic activity. She has made many recordings with the choral ensembles. For many years he has also served as a juror and member of the artistic council in reviews, competitions and music festivals of regional and national level and international.
